ystral is an industry-leading German machine manufacturer based in Ballrechten-Dottingen, Southern Germany near the French and Swiss borders. With a further three subsidiaries in Singapore, India and China, the company is fast becoming an established powerhouse in South East Asia and the Far East.
Established in 1959 with an early focus on the dairy industry, ystral now plans, designs and manufactures mixing, dispersing and powder wetting machines and process plants for global chemical, coating and ink, food, pharmaceutical, household, cosmetics and battery production customers. Next-level machinery
ystral is delighted to announce the exclusive development of two new machines: BATT-TDS for fast, lithium-ion electrode slurry mixing and Coflow for continuous powder wetting & dispersing.
The BATT-TDS has been precision-designed for the requirements of battery slurry production and has the following features:
- Inducts powders, dust-free under vacuum into a stream of liquid creating conditions for optimal dispersion of diverse components in a continuous sequence.
- Independent control of key parameters, including flow and shear rates, offering a wide process window in a single piece of equipment.
- Dispersion of diverse materials is uniquely tailored according to their specific physical properties and topologies.
- The BATT-TDS achieves high product quality in a fraction of the time required by conventional processes.
- Easily scalable across various battery chemistries, the BATT-TDS solution is suitable for production at current industrial levels and ready for tomorrow’s gigafactories.
- The platform offers a low cost of ownership with the highest productivity per square meter of factory space.
The Coflow is a continuously operating inline powder wetting and dispersing machine for the production of dispersions. With this technology, powders can be continuously mixed in, homogenised and dispersed in liquids in proportion to quantity. In the chemical industry, YSTRAL Coflow for example is suitable for the production of adhesives, coatings, polyester resins or silicone sealants. Amongst others, in the food sector, the continuously operating powder wetting and dispersing machine is the suitable solution for pre-products for dough production, milk and milk substitute products, as well as the production of edible collagen shells, mayonnaise or dressings. It contains the following features:
- Compared to a classic batch process in a container, the YSTRAL Coflow enables production with a significantly reduced machine footprint, faster processing times, better OEE values and a higher degree of automation.
- Cleaning of the machine is quicker due to reduced product contact surface area.
- The machine is also characterised by its low energy consumption – especially at low viscosities, the Coflow has a minimal power intake.

A key focus for ystral is the battery production sector, for which the company has developed the YSTRAL Batt-TDS. ystral are proud to be supporting the battery cell research project at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB in Münster/Germany with the installation of the BATT-TDS Navi, a dispersing system for the production of lithium-ion electrode slurries.
