Applied Pumps Ltd has been duly selected as our Commercial Pump Supplier of the Year, we are pleased to report here at Industrial Process News.
We are subsequently delighted to present our readers with a detailed profile focusing on this exceptional brand, outlining the team’s core competencies, the establishment’s performance in recent times and plans for future progression.
The privately owned and entirely independent company, which was founded in 2000, purposefully strives to fulfil individual commercial pump requirements with its comprehensive range of high quality products and services. The leading specialist operates from its fully equipped engineering facility in order providing suitable solutions for clients working across the manufacturing & process, chemicals, inks, paints & coatings, oil & gas, marine, vehicle & transport, food equipment, renewable energy, fuels & oils, food & beverage and water & wastewater industries.
Serving such a wide-reaching customer base is made possible with the organisation’s extensive inventory of pumps, which includes everything from gear pumps and booster pumps to air operated diaphragm pumps, flexible impeller pumps and metering pumps. The supplier also stocks filtration equipment, bulk flow meters and motors, valves & control systems, whilst offering bespoke design and build pump packages and repair & servicing components where required.
“Taking seasonal variations into account, we have enjoyed a good consistent level of monthly activity,” Managing Director, Roy Gibson, said when asked about Applied Pumps’ current position in the marketplace. “Compared with many of our competitors we have a strong focus on customer retention, although it is pleasing that we have continued to gain important new clients as well. Having exceeded our estimates, we have achieved our highest volume of sales to date, and incremental changes have naturally occurred along the way as we have evolved slowly and sustainably.
“One key area for us over the last five years however has been one of financial consolidation. Like many young firms we had a fairly difficult time roughly seven years ago when the global economy suddenly collapsed and we certainly learned a lot from that experience. Anyone within these business sectors has seen a gradual year on year decline in UK manufacturing and industry but we can’t change this: as a company you can only work on the things you can control.”
The firm, which also holds status as the UK distributor for a number of renowned European and North American equipment manufacturers including Jessberger, Settima, Victor, Haight and Tuthill, prides itself on its ability to respond to all enquiries as accurately and quickly as possible. Its resources are frequently updated for customer convenience – 2016 has seen the introduction of a completely new website and Cloud-based platform for its e-commerce facility – and its positive displacement pump programme is continually expanded.
“It’s a surprise but also a great honour to have been commended with this title from Industrial Process News,” Roy concluded. “Trying very hard to give customers exactly what they want is our main aim – along with significant expansion in the long term – and after our complete company re-branding exercise we will continue to pursue new avenues that will benefit us.
“We would like to take this opportunity to tell more people about what we are doing and we want to get the message across that ‘we can often build, pack and despatch many of our gear pumps, centrifugal pumps and drum pumps on the same day we receive your order’. Can your existing supplier do that? If not then give us a call!”
