Cable Services Group, a leading distributor of specialist electrical equipment and components, is pleased to announce a major advancement in its logistics capabilities with the addition of five new cable drum trailers now based at each of its five UK branches. 
This strategic investment has increased the company’s capacity for single drum deliveries while streamlining the collection of empty drums from sites across the country, resulting in greater service efficiency and cost savings for customers.
Cable Services will use the trailers in conjunction with its existing fleet of Mercedes flatbeds, Sprinters and Hiab. This new facility will improve service delivery times and eliminate the need for external agencies or third-party logistics. By adopting this self-sufficient approach, Cable Services will maintain control over every stage of the delivery process, enhancing fuel efficiency and minimising delays for a more streamlined and environmentally conscious service.
With this investment, Cable Services Group will continue to improve service standards and guarantee responsive, reliable and rapid deliveries to sites nationwide. Customers can now also benefit from a next-day delivery service, subject to stock availability and order specifications.
To ensure the success of this expansion, the group’s transport team underwent rigorous training, and all drivers now hold Class C and Class C1 licenses. This training not only ensured that the team had the necessary skills to handle and deliver cable drums efficiently, but also that they met all relevant compliance and safety standards.
