Bruker announces the launch of the Fourier 80 ChemLab with Mixture Profiling module, an easy-to-deploy benchtop solution that uses nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to enhance production efficiency in chemical industry manufacturing.

The Fourier 80 ChemLab with Mixture Profiling module expands the potential of NMR analysis to the routine laboratory. This push-button chemical profiling solution can be easily adapted to resolve new analytical questions. The instrument provides detailed reports that identify and quantify the constituents in a specific raw material, process intermediate, or product formulation, enabling continuous monitoring throughout the entire production process. Correlating these readings with other process parameters leads to increased efficiency in terms of material and energy consumption, and overall synthesis performance.
The inherently quantitative technology of NMR comes without requiring substance-specific reference material or calibration. The technology can be used by both trained professionals and new users, making the whole manufacturing affiliated environment more efficient and accurate from an end-to-end perspective, maximising time-to-result and production flexibility.

Dr. Joerg Koehler, Head of Business Unit Industrial at Bruker BioSpin, commented, “Our customers streamline their diverse analytical testing landscapes by smart deployment strategies within the Distributed Laboratory Topology concept, which allows for seamless workflows in product innovation, pilot and volume manufacturing. Our close co-operation with industrial market leaders ensures that existing pain points in various workflows are addressed in an optimal way.”
Deploying new testing methods based on benchtop NMR in manufacturing environments requires user independent operation, where automated data processing and report generation are key. The Mixture Profiling Module on Bruker’s Fourier 80 instrument series delivers the advantages of NMR at any stage of the production process in due time.”
